Dear all,

Hope this email finds you well and I would also like to take the opportunity to wish everyone a happy new year.

As you know, a new NetMundial convening will take place in Brazil this year at the end of April/early May. The Brazilian Internet Steering Committee recently issued a statement mentioning that "after discussing with several international partners during the IGF in Kyoto and ICANN in Hamburg, presents the proposal to hold, in 2024, a multistakeholder event – outside of institutional arenas – to convene the international community and contribute to ongoing debates"

In light of the above, I would like to share with you a draft joint statement about NetMundial+10 that is collecting sign-ons until tomorrow - Jan 5th (with some chance of an extension until next week). The statement reinforces that "a NETmundial+10 meeting will provide a privileged space for stakeholders to meet, discuss, and reach consensus over a new roadmap that can tackle pressing challenges of our time, as well as to collectively build a common structured priority issues agenda to the global community, and further multistakeholderism to all relevant global governance and decisional arenas" and that soon a provisional charter and timeline for the event will be provided to the broader Internet Governance Community.

The draft statement is attached to this email. In case your networks/orgs would like to be part of the sign-on list prior to its release make sure to send the signed file by January 5th to the email <[log in to unmask]>.

Kind regards,
