This week, IANA Stewardship transition dominates Internet Governance headlines with some communication battle as Sen. Ted Cruz and Donal J Trump express oppostion on transition while ICANN and most of Internet community members inform on the real "nature of the IANA functions, ICANN, and the likely impact of the transition". Also, United Nations Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development<http://www.broadbandcommission.org/Pages/default.aspx> releases The State of Broadband 2016<http://www.broadbandcommission.org/Documents/reports/bb-annualreport2016.pdf> stating that China and India are now the largest internet markets in the world. Besides, on domain name, 7.9 million registrations were added to the Internet in the second quarter of 2016, taking the total number to about 334.6 million. On cybersecurity, Yahoo has confirmed the massive data breach which has affected 500 million accounts. As for events, we note InterCommunity 2016 organised by the Internet Society Board of Trustees and African forum on data protection in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
