Sitting in the ICANN public forum this morning on new gtlds and
listening to all of the frustration in the room from the community
about ICANN's new gtld plan, it seems like the situation is ripe for
a revolt. It seems like the community is giving up on ICANN and
ready to start creating their own new gtlds (like Karl Auerbach and
many others have done without any blessing from ICANN).

John Gilmore said "the Internet treats censorship as damage and
routes around it". It seems ICANN is so damaged that the community
is ready to route around it and create their own new gtlds. I
wonder what would be involved to make this happen.

Thanks,
Robin
