Hello

Maryam is just trying to do her job and be helpful to the community. I very much appreciate her efforts and hope others do too. Not everyone on the list is able to follow all the various processes as closely as others, so a head’s up on relevant bits that come over the transom can be helpful. If she didn’t send such notices then Rafik or someone else would have to, so this is indeed relieving an administrative burden. And if someone doesn’t want to watch a video from Fadi on the grounds that anything he says is by definition propaganda, then they presumably will not do so. The only thing that bothers me about the video are his scary giant hands. Beyond that, well it’s Fadi, this is his take on where the process is, people can make of it what they will.

Best

Bill

Nowhere is it claimed that it was anyone's job to determine whether something was propaganda. However, once staff starts to submit non-administrative content to the list he or she assumes some editorial control over substantive content. IMHO it is not appropriate for staff members to do this on the members list, a list BTW we have purposely kept on non-ICANN servers, in part, in order to maintain our independence.
