SUMMARY


This week, Iana transition on headlines as Senator Ted Cruz on Wednesday scheduled hearing next week entitled "Protecting Internet Freedom: Implications of Ending U.S. Oversight of the Internet" while on Thursday, a group of republican committee chairmen ask U.S administration to reconsider IANA transition which contract already scheduled to expire on October 1.

On data protection, the Japanese government has expressed concerns to the UK and Europe that Brexit may impact the current level of data protection and the free flow of information across borders.
As for event, we note G20 summit in Hangzhou, China, where several digital policy issues has been raised. Also, happened this week, the ITU Global ICT Capacity Building Symposium on Embracing Capacity Building Opportunities in the Digital Era in Nairobi, Kenya.
