Milton,

sorry, but I agree with Adam. The
domains-under-management figures below are from the
most recent monthly reports:

     3,720 .pro
     4,077 .aero
     6,123 .coop
     6,218 .mobi
    19,827 .travel
   205,320 .name
 1,437,054 .biz
 3,156,052 .info
 4,855,957 .org
 7,778,708 .net
52,699,316 .com

You will note that a single operator
(VeriSign)dominates the gTLD market with an 86.18%
market share that is growing larger every single
month.

Giving a single operator renewal conditions that allow
it to manage these domains in perpetuity is hardly in
the public's best interest -- even Bell Telephone was
busted up into the smaller Baby Bells when it became
evident that such market dominance was not in the
public interest.

Current ICANN contracts are written with clauses that
allow for termination only in the event of an uncured
breach. In my view, there are other circumstances
that warrant a non-renewal of contract -- excessive
market dominance is one such justification.
