Hello,

while for long time the focus was (and is) to bring more members from all
around the world for more diversity and representation, we need to improve
the level of participation and engagement to influence the policy within
ICANN and to bring the more diverse voice of non-commercial.

I already proposed during in Brussels meeting to implement a community
manager volunteering task which can be taken the chair or councilors or
shared among them. a CM is the person who can be in touch directly with
members,knowing well the topics that interest them, having developed close
relations with them and then he/she is able to engage them when those topics
are raised and allowing them to volunteer when they can. people feel more
 committed to participate in topics close to them.

the CM can also follow-up with participation of our members at working
groups and so on and provide assistance, help and advises as it is not
always easy to participate in those spaces where there are many long-time
ICANN participants.

in other side, it is also important to avoid giving the impression that only
attending ICANN meeting matter, yes it is useful to be there BUT a lot of
work is done outside ICANN meetings and especially online in WG ML, public
comments etc
