Hi Niels,
Thank you so very much for your work on this. I do think it is very
important that the NCSG speak on this issue and build upon the statements
already issued by the NCUC Executive Committee and the GNSO Council.
I'll be happy to help as things proceed (on the road at the moment) but
the one thing I noticed missing is a call for a conference harassment
policy. I do think there is a need for one (indeed ICANN is unusual among
conferences I attend in not having one) and would recommend we explore this
going forward. I will note for those attending the Helsinki meeting that
harassment is currently a highly salient issue in Finland and police are
now empowered to issue on the spot fines for low level cases (
http://www.citymetric.com/politics/finnish-police-officers-can-now-issue-spo
t-fines-sexual-harassment-1889 ). It would be great to take some momentum
on this issue into the meeting.
Thanks again Niels. I look forward to working with everyone on this public
comment in the hope the NCSG will lead the way in helping to create a
working environment in which all attendees are comfortable, feel welcome
and are able to contribute to the discussion to the best of their ability
without fear of any unwelcome conduct that inhibit their participation. A
professional ICANN working environment for working professionals of all
races, ethnicities and gender identities.

Behaviors
It might not have been totally clear, but I would like to discuss this
as being an NCSG statement.
Best,
Niels
