I wanted to comment briefly on the PIR assertion "we
certainly don't believe that the proposed fee will be
a "profit center"."

The latest .org registry report indicates that
1,937,485 domains were deleted during the month of
May.  Assuming that the domain tasting trend continues
in growth mode unabated, in round numbers (at five
cents per deletion) we are probably looking at
$100,000 per month in ongoing new income to PIR.

Sorry for my cynicism, but those kind of numbers sure
look like a profit-center operation to me.
